The development will consist of the alterations to and extension of former Ordnance Building comprising of: • change of use of existing building to educational use. • construction of new two storey extension to rear of existing building • demolition of existing internal walls / partitions to create new educational rooms • demolition of existing external concrete stairs to west elevation • demolition of previous existing single-story extension to front elevation (south) of building • removal of existing oil tank and bund • alterations to front elevation (south) including reconfiguration of existing openings to provide new entrance doors and windows & new access and ramps • refurbishment of existing windows and upgrade of inappropriate uPVC windows to the rear • repair of existing roof including the repair and refurbishment of existing rainwater goods • Replacement of existing entrance gates from Connolly Barracks to Battery Road • re-opening of previously blocked up ope in existing boundary wall between Connolly Barracks and LWETB Office Building, Battery Road. • creation of new designated pedestrian access route from existing entrance to LWETB Office Building, Battery Road to Connolly Barracks, including new opening in boundary wall to Battery Road, footpath and painted pedestrian route within the LWETB Office Building, Battery Road site • New pedestrian access in existing east / west boundary wall between former Ordinance Building and rear of LWETB Office Building, Battery Road. • removal of existing sign and erection of new totem sign at entrance to LWETB Office Building, Battery Road • New external public lighting to serve the development • all associated site development works to complete the development The proposed development consists of works within the curtilage of a protected structure. The site is also located within an Architectural Conservation Area
