Current, phase 2 of the development, comprises demolition of part of the existing nursing home building and refurbishing of the retained section to provide social spaces for the residents and administrative/support areas. Minor alterations to the existing façades are required in these refurbished areas; (total refurbished area in this phase is approx. 1035sqm). New main entrance lobby will also be completed as part of this phase. Current development also includes 20 bicycle spaces, 35 surface car-parking spaces, a plaza to front of the building, landscaping, delivery area, lighting, signage and all associated site works. First phase was completed on the 6th of November and comprised the demolition of 5 no. of the existing Independent living units and the construction of a new 69 bed Nursing Home extension to the East of the existing Nursing Home. The total area of the building, refurbished and new will be approx. 5,048sqm

Proposed demolition, alterations and extension to Maryfield Nursing Home. The proposed development comprises the demolition of 5 no. Independent living units and demolition of part of the existing nursing home building. The total proposed area of demolition is approx. 3300sqm. Proposed works include the construction of a new part 2, part 3 storey, extension to the east of the existing nursing home building incorporating 69 en-suite bedrooms to replace the existing 55 bedrooms , day spaces, support spaces and associated ancillary spaces. The proposed new building steps down from 2 storeys in height on the lucan road to a lower section that is 2 storeys in height on the river liffey side. The building is 3 stories in height for a small central portion, where both 2 storey elements intersect; (total new build area is approx. 3,898sqm). Part of the existing building, including the chapel is to be retained and refurbished to provide social spaces for the residents and administrative/support areas. Minor alterations to the existing façades are required in these refurbished areas; (total refurbished area is approx. 1150sqm). The total area of the this building, refurbished and new is approx. 5,048sqm. The development also comprises 20 bicycle spaces, 35 surface car-parking spaces, esb sub-station (approx.14sqm), esb off loader room (approx. 9sqm), landscaping, delivery area, lighting, signage and all associated site works. The existing main entrance and emergency entrance from the lucan road are retained. Service access is proposed to the west of the site for deliveries.
