It is proposed to construct new student accommodation scheme on the site of the Westwood Hotel located at the junction of Thomas Hynes Road and upper Newcastle road in Dangan, Galway. The development will consist of three separate buildings as follows:- Block A/B:- 5 storey building consisting of student accommodation/cluster apartments at each level with reception, staff, plant, recreation rooms and a café/restaurant at ground level. The building is separated in two blocks at ground and first floors to provide pedestrian and vehicular access to the site Block C:- 5 storey stand-alone building consisting of student accommodation/cluster apartments at each level with a gym and storage/plant facilities at ground floor. Block D/E:- 5 storey building consisting of student accommodation/cluster apartments at each level with plant rooms at ground level. The building is separated in two blocks at ground floor to provide pedestrian access to the site. The new development will be accessed from the N59, Upper Newcastle Road with a pedestrian entrance onto the Thomas Hynes Road.
