Works description

The development will consist of the change of use from religious to education and the creation of new accommodation for the provision of a new Mayo Medical Academy comprising; lecture theatre, teaching spaces, administration ancillary accommodation, new stairway, and glazing to the South West roof slope. In addition, the works will allow for the insertion of a first floor level to nave and chancel, removal of late-20th century panelling and raised flooring, removal of the nave floor and the insertion of new floor beams to the former vestry, removal and re- housing / salvage of the altar piece and nave floor tiles, removal and relocation of three stained glass window units to south elevation and refurbishment of remaining, removal of late-20th century access ramp, partial lowering of the chancel floor, the refurbishment and repair of the internal joinery, roof trusses and brickwork decorative scheme, the insertion of a glazed door to the north porch, the re- roofing of the existing building with a natural roof slate, external paving, landscaping, external lighting, signage and all ancillary works.
