The site is situated in a courtyard area adjacent to the Pharmacy Department on the east side of the Hospital campus. The development consists of a two storey extension (ground floor accommodation with plant area overhead) to be constructed in an existing courtyard area between the Pharmacy Department and hospital deliveries yard. An external stairway will be located at the front of the development to provide independent access to the first floor plantroom and the Aseptic Unit accommodation will be accessed from the existing pharmacy corridor providing a link to the main hospital street at ground floor level to enable facilitate staff access and general hospital services. This will not be a patient accessible area. The proposals include the reconfiguration of Means of Escape routes and the reinstatement of soft landscaping on completion of the project. The existing Aseptic Unit at Tallaght University Hospital is located in the Pharmacy Department. The new unit will replace the existing and continue to provide specialist pharmaceuticalproducts in validated sterile conditions for patients in the hospital. The new environment willsupport flexibility in service delivery and contribute to operational effectiveness and efficiency
