The former existing St. Clare’s Convent building in Gortamullin, Kenmare, Co. Kerry along with a 45m2 extension is to be converted to provide a building for the Kenmare Family Resource Centre and a new area office building for Kerry County Council along with a meeting room and 2 business incubation offices. The area of the site is 1.56 Ha, and the total floor area of the building is 595m2. The aim is to provide civic meeting space, Kerry County Council office space and a family resources centre that allows for a productive and efficient environment while ensuring the wellbeing of employees and building users. The proposed layout will ensure that the building is accessible to both staff and visitors with a wide range of abilities. The existing building will be sub-divided into 2 separate buildings. Building A - An office area, meeting room and associated facilities for use by Kerry County Council and Building B – office area, counselling rooms, art therapy room and resources rooms with associated facilities for the Kenmare Family Resource Centre who will provide support, counselling services, training and assistance to the community.
