1. Rooftop Retrofit Works Works will be for the deep retrofit of a 1,200sq.m rooftop extension to the main educational building on the Letterkenny Campus. The extension is a light weight steel structure constructed over the pre-existing RTC 'H' block wing. The wall type is 200mm block with 50mm insulation and Glasal rain screen panels; The roof construction is steel profile sheeting; The floor construction is 150mm concrete slab with 50mm screed supported by steel beams over 500mm void over the 1970's RTC roof. It is proposed to increase the roof & wall insulation, renew the roof membrane, rain screen cladding, windows & rooflights. Lighting & heating systems are to be upgraded including provision of PV panels to the roof. 2. Retrofit Works to Single Storey Block (former BIC Block) The works will be for the medium retrofit of a 455 sq.m single storey block to the rear (north) on main LYIT building. The walls are standard blockwork masonry construction. It is proposed to increase the roof & wall insulation, renew the roof membrane, windows. Lighting & heating systems are to be upgraded. Works involve temporary relocation of existing teaching gas storage. These works are subject to confirmation of funding. 3. Construction of new build Biomass Heat Centre. Works to include construction of new stand alone 200 sq.m enclosure to house new biomass boilers and associated plant and equipment and fuel stores. The centre, to be located close to the western boundary of the campus will provide heating to the LYIT Campus. Works will include construction of piled foundation, floor slab with 2 No. fuel storage pits, external envelope and associated flues. 4. District Heating / Site Services Works include provision of new services trenches, one trench shall be approx. 150m long and run along the car park to the north side of the main LYIT building. The trench will contain district heating pipework to deliver hot water generated in the Biomass Heat Centre to the existing heating dist
