The proposed use of the former Bose factory for the manufacture of dry baby milk formula products accords with the established Industrial use of the existing factory, and therefore no specific change of use occurs. The proposed use has received a Section 5 Planning Exemption from Monaghan County Council Planning Department, and under normal circumstances the material alterations proposed to the existing factory would also be exempt from a requirement for a fire safety certificate. However, following consultation with Monaghan County Council Fire Department, who advised that no fire safety certificate exists for the building, it was agreed that a fire-safety certificate application for the proposed material alterations would be made. This Commencement Notice relates only to the area of proposed internal alterations of the building, which is shaded on the enclosed fire safety certificate floor plans. In respect of existing areas which are not undergoing any material alterations, these are outside the scope of the application, and no new or greater contravention shall arise as a result of the proposed alterations.
