Development Description
Permission for the demolition of an existing single storey light industrial building and the construction of a new replacement three storey light industrial building with two storey ancillary office block and all other ancillary site works. The proposed building provides for light industrial factory space, office and staff welfare areas, effluent treatment plant and rooftop solar PV panels. Ancillary site development work includes the reconfiguration of an existing car parking serving an adjacent building and the provision of new car parking spaces. The proposed development also provides for covered bicycle parking, motorcycle parking, a new footpath connecting single-storey substation including supporting electrical infrastructure, bulk gases compound, discharge/sampling tank, drainage, landscaping, facilitate the proposed development. Access to the proposed development will be provided via the existing site entrances off Bessboro Road within the Mahon Industrial Estate. A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) has been prepared and will be submitted to the Planning Authority with the application.
