Official description
Verbatim source text
The development will consist of works involving the preparation and operation of a sandpit to remove a discrete hill covering an area of circa (‘ca’). 1.0ha within an agricultural field. The development will serve as an extension to the existing sandpit (Planning Reference 22/77) and will operate within the same ten-year lifespan as granted under the existing planning permission. The application area will cover ca. 2.0ha and will include a haulage route from the existing sandpit to the development area. It is estimated that ca. 79,644 cubic metres (‘m³’) of sand material will be extracted as part of these works, and processed using established infrastructure within the existing sandpit, or delivered directly to the market without processing. The planning application may be inspected, or purchased at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, at the offices of the Planning Authority during its public opening hours. A submission or observation in relation to the application may be made in writing to the Planning Authority on payment of the prescribed fee, €20, within the period of 5 weeks beginning on the date of receipt by the authority of the application, and such submissions or observations will be considered by the Planning Authority in making a decision on the application. The Planning Authority may grant permission subject to or without conditions, or may refuse to grant permission.
