Permission for the extension and restoration of Kilmuckridge Sandpit (previously permitted through Planning Reference 19/958). The extent of the proposed development covers an area of circa ('ca.') 40.32 hectares ('ha') (centre point ITM X:716160 Y: 638005) within Roadstone Limited's landholding. The proposed development includes for the extension of the extraction area of Kilmuckridge Sandpit (Planning Reference: 19/958) eastwards in a phased manner. The proposed extraction area will be benched with a final extraction depth of 22 metres above Ordnance Datum ('mOD') in the western area of the site and 19.41 mOD in the eastern area of the site. The proposed extraction area will cover an area of ca. 22.82 ha. The proposed development will involve the installation of additional ancillary infrastructure which includes a washing plant, wheel wash, groundwater well for abstraction purposes and associated drainage infrastructure for operational purposes. Roadstone Limited are also seeking to restore the site through the importation of clean, uncontaminated soil and stone material notified/registered as by-product in accordance with the definition of a by-product as set out in Regulation 27 of European Union (Waste Directive) Regulations 2011 (as amended). This material will be used to complement site-won materials for the purposes of constructing berms around the periphery and habitat creation. As part of the restoration of the site, native woodland and scrub planting, species-rich grassland, surface water bodies, low-nutrient landscapes and a series of hedgerows will be created/planted to support local biodiversity. A planning permission of 25 years is being sought for the proposed development. The application is accompanied by an Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR)
