Public-safe works description

1. New Build Extension Extension consisting of a 2-storey accommodation block containing 4no. general classrooms; a construction studies room; a machine and prep room; a home economics room; a textile room; toilets; lockers; stairs and circulation including a new link corridor (to the existing school 1999 extension) at ground and first floor levels. Demolition works corridor facilitated by demolition of the existing stairs at the end of the existing school corridors to allow for the new link, including accommodating works to the existing roof to integrate with the proposed roof of the link corridor. Upgrade works to the existing school lift. 2. Works to Existing Buildings Demolitions to Existing: • demolition of existing corridor end stairs; creation of openings in external wall; amendments to the existing roof and floors at the link tie in. Demolition of the boiler house and yard. Alterations and Upgrades: • Replacing the main school entrance doors and cross corridor doors plus minor upgrade works to the existing lift and wayfinding signage required for compliance with Building Regulations and statutory requirements. • Upgrade Mechanical & Electrical works including modifying existing ESB Supply and modifying the existing boiler and heat plant to accommodate the new extension. 3. Site Works and Services • New service road and pedestrian path to access and tie in with existing rear service yard • All associated site works including the diversion of storm water; diversion of existing foul sewer pump chamber; civil and structural works including boundary and site retaining walls and grading ground to account for existing ground conditions and levels • New line marking to existing parking areas to provide 2 No accessible parking spaces and set down area; new covered bicycle parking, 2 No. EV charging spaces, 14 standard parking spaces. • New external steps to work with the existing sloped topography; new under croft shelter space below section of proposed extension gro
