The development will consist of: (i) Construction of a single storey primary school building, Ardee Educate Together National School, (2235 sq.m. gross floor area); with associated external signage. The constituent elements of the new school building comprise: (a) a single storey south facing wing containing 4 classrooms, 2 SEN class bases and associated sanitary accommodation, (b) an east facing special needs unit incorporating 2 SEN class bases multi-sensory room, para-educational room, central activities room and specialist sanitary accommodation (c) a 1 ½ storey general purpose room, library, multi-purpose room, special tuition, general sanitary and administration rooms within a central entrance wing (d) a single storey east facing wing containing 4 classrooms, staff room and associated sanitary accommodation. The immediate school site development works include (e) a single hard ball court, junior hard play, sensory play and sensory garden with general grass play areas (f) vehicular access to a bus set-down area, 18 car parking spaces 3 universally accessible car parking spaces (including charging point) and (g) 22 bicycle racks for 44 bicycles. The general site estate development includes an access boulevard, pedestrian pavements and cycle lanes to be constructed from Jervis Street to service the school site and make provision for future development within the existing adjacent estate. The existing stone wall on Jervis Street shall be taken down and realigned to form a new public access to this boulevard. The proposed development also includes hard and soft landscaping, boundary fencing, site attenuation, associated site services integration and services diversions.
