Development Description
“We, Bluemont Developments (Midleton) Limited, intend to apply for permission on lands at Knockgriffin (Imokilly), Knockgriffin (Barrymore) and Water Rock, Midleton, Co. Cork. Permission is sought for amendments to part of the development previously permitted under planning reference 21/7265, to consist of the construction of 97 no. residential units and 1 no. childcare facility in 2 no. blocks ranging in height from 1-6 storeys. The application site is generally bounded by Northern Relief Road to the north, CGI Food Park to the south and agricultural land to the west. The proposed development will consist of the following: Block B: a 6-storey apartment building comprising 54 units (18 no. 1 bedroom units, 24 no. 2 bedroom/3 person units and 12 no. 2 bedroom/4 person units), with associated private balconies to the north and south elevations; bin store; plant and switch room. Block C: a 5-storey apartment building comprising 43 units (35 no. 1 bedroom units and 8 no. 2 bedroom/3 person units), with associated private balconies to the eastern, southern and western elevations, and 1 no. childcare facility and associated external play area at ground floor level; bin store; plant; ESB substation and switch room. The development will also consist of a total of 75 no. car parking spaces (24 no. surface level and 51 no. undercroft/courtyard level. 28 no. spaces are within the application red line boundary but are to serve apartment Blocks A&D) and 1 no. drop-off space; 192 no. bicycle parking spaces (144 no. secure, undercroft spaces; 42 no. surface level spaces; and 6 no. cargo spaces); landscaping, communal and public open space, boundary treatment; public lighting; as well as all associated site and infrastructural development works necessary to facilitate the proposed development”.
