of a facility for the appropriate treatment and recovery of end-of-life vehicles (ELVs), and storage of s.41 Garda seized vehicles, vehicles awaiting insurance assessment, and crashed or damage vehicles awaiting repair or removal from site (2.2ha). The proposed development includes ancillary works as follows: the repair/refurbishment of an existing workshop on site, and change of use of this existing 131 m² building from a truck repairs workshop to an end-of-life vehicle depollution building; Repair and refurbishment of existing (previously permitted under 11/1733) concrete hardstanding areas on site for the temporary outdoor storage of frontal damaged vehicles, and ELVs prior to de-pollution; Use of existing hardcore/aggregate area for the storage of non-frontal damaged vehicles awaiting insurance assessment, ELVs post de-pollution, and s.41 Garda seized vehicles, and installation of weighbridge. The above proposed works/development will be carried out in conjunction with the continued use of works/development permitted and carried out under 11/1733 application, namely the retention of an existing 254 m² building as a truck repairs workshop; the retention of an existing 49 m² building as site office; installation of a stormwater drainage system and associated oil/water interceptor; construction of a landscape mitigation berm and security fencing; and temporary outdoor storage of vehicles; Following the granting of planning permission, it is proposed to apply to Galway County Council, for a waste permit for the operation of an Authorised Treatment Facility for the treatment of end-of-life vehicles
